Head’s Welcome – Why Windlesham?
Why Windlesham?
Look beyond the gates and you will find that our warm, welcoming school is far more than meets the eye. With a surprisingly large site, our pupils benefit from having their own swimming pool, dedicated sports hall, art block, soundproof music studios and both flowering and vegetable gardens – a sanctuary in the city. Undoubtedly, we are proud of our facilities but that is just the beginning…
When you join our friendly, co-educational school in the heart of Brighton, you are joining our Windlesham family where every face is familiar and each child is celebrated and valued as an individual. We pride ourselves on our ‘family feel’ as well as the excellent progress that pupils make academically, in the creative arts and in sport. Our experienced teaching team focuses on academic rigour whilst delivering a broad, rich curriculum. We are an inclusive school that prides itself on promoting high standards, with a balanced approach. We encourage children to develop their particular talents and abilities whilst finding joy in learning and pride in achievement. This then lays a solid foundation for their next steps in learning and life.
We are proud to say that at the end of their journey, a Windlesham pupil
is:
- independent
- resilient and open to challenge
- invested in their community
- excited about the future
and has:
- a strong academic foundation
- stablished life-long relationships
- many happy memories
The school has strong, long-standing relationships with the senior schools in the area and Windlesham children are highly sought-after for their sound academic grounding, strong sense of community spirit and overall zest for life. For a mixed ability school, we have an excellent reputation for supporting our pupils to gain places and scholarships at local independent senior schools.
Windlesham is a school that is truly independent but with strong, well-established links with local schools. This gives us the flexibility to focus on the specific needs of our children. Rooted in respect for traditional values, we aim to encourage our pupils to be kind, forward-thinking and equipped with the skills to navigate the world we live in today and shape the world of tomorrow.
Please do come and visit us to gain a deeper understanding of what a special place Windlesham is.
We look forward to introducing you to our school.
